Case Study:

Consulting + Writing

Two industry veterans decide to set out on their own and launch an experiential marketing agency—but need some external perspective on how to describe their work. Consulting on their business plan helped cement clear language around their mission and value proposition out of their big picture ideas, netting them callbacks and clients right out of the gate.

The Case of the Missing Voice

The project: Industry colleagues approached me as they began to develop their business plan and pitch deck. Although they were very clear on how they wanted to approach their new business’s activities, they needed help creating a clear and concise description

How it worked: Together we held several discovery interview calls where I was able to get to the heart of what the principals wanted to do and not to do, and how they saw themselves relative to their competition.  I led them through exercises on how to describe their offerings and value, and even developed their pitch deck. We concluded with a practice pitch session so they would be comfortable with the content before heading into their first pitch calls.

The outcomes: After the consulting phase was completed, I delivered updated business plan language, mission and vision statements, a robust deck to be used in pitch calls, and case studies that described their previous successes in their industry. The new business was able to sign several clients within a few weeks of finishing our work together.
