Work with me.
I work with organizations and individuals on projects that make a difference. Whether it’s a startup, boutique agency, distributed corporate department, or scrappy nonprofit, I will integrate with your team to make your project or event happen. I’m based in Chicago, but work remotely with teams around the world—I’m always willing to travel for the right project!
Below are my primary services. You can also skip ahead to read case studies from projects I’ve led.
Services.
Relentlessly curious, I’m always learning and adding new tools to the kit. But over the years I’ve developed a few signature freelance offerings that allow me to work on projects across many industries.
Writing & Editing
I’ve been a writer for as long as I can remember, and relish the challenge of communicating niche concepts to new audiences. As an editor, I balance a keen eye for detail with an open mind to what my client is trying to express. Think: short features, personnel profiles, copy that fits the audience, and great storytelling—not investigative journalism or creative fiction.
Project Management
Everyone can rest easy when I lead a project. Yes, I’m organized and strategic, but so many years spent in sales gave me the soft skills required to keep anyone on a team (whether they’re scientific advisors, union electricians, or the C-suite) connected and on task. Think: less Gantt charts and Agile frameworks, more “do it well, on time, while making people feel great.”
Education & Training
Lightbulb moments are my caffeine. As a former Director of Education, I understand the content that makes a big impression in a teaching environment, and know how to adapt the content and themes to the audience. Think: designing and delivering seminars or keynotes on the front end, or formulating curricula for internal or external audiences behind the scenes.
Event Production & Marketing
Memorable events—educational, entertaining, or just plain social—are where I get to flex my hospitality muscles while incorporating creativity and project management. I’m particularly interested in using events to debut new products, rejuvenate familiar brands, and build community. Think: an 8-seat farm dinner, a 3,000 person conference, and everything in between.
Consulting
Lean on all this experience to get your big ideas or new projects off the ground. If you already have a team set up but find yourself in need of a professional sounding board, or just some fresh perspective, let’s talk! Think: clear-eyed and compassionate business feedback, without any wonky terms or corporate restructuring advice.
These specialties and services overlap.
The case studies below are just a few examples of how I’ve integrated these skills while tackling complex challenges in interdisciplinary projects.
